What does the term "stuck" mean in the world of poker? What is the definition of the term "stuck" in poker?

In poker, being "stuck" means that you are currently losing money. This could refer to your current session or this could refer to your cumulative results over the last little while.





For instance - let's say that you are playing in a Pot Limit Omaha cash game at your local casino. One of your friends sends you a text and asks how you are doing. You respond that you are "stuck" $500 but that the game is really good and you aren't planning on going anywhere.

In this case, your response that you are "stuck" $500 means that you are currently down $500 on the session.

Being "stuck" can also refer to being down an amount of money over an extended period of time.

For instance, you may say that you are "stuck" $35,000 over the course of the World Series of Poker so far, which means that you have lost a total of $35,000 over the duration of the tournament series.

Being "stuck" in poker is obviously never a good thing.
