In poker, the term WSOP POY is an acronym for "World Series of Poker Player of the Year".

Each year, the World Series of Poker gives out an award to the player who accumulates the most points throughout the course of the World Series of Poker (Las Vegas) and World Series of Poker Europe.





The World Series of Poker has a scoring system that gives out points based on the size of the tournament field, size of buy-in and other factors. The better you do in a WSOP tournament, the more points you will score. The World Series of Poker uses a leaderboard to rank the players.
