What Does Royal Flush Mean?
What does the term "royal flush" mean in the world of poker? What is the definition of the term "royal flush"?
In most forms of poker, a "royal flush" is the absolute best hand that a person can be dealt.
With a royal flush, you have a Broadway straight that is of the same suit.
For instance - let's say that you are dealt Jd-Qd in No Limit Hold'em and the board brings 10d-Kd-Ad. In this situation, you would have flopped a royal flush, which is an unbeatable hand.
The "royal flush" is extremely rare in poker.
It is important to note that the Royal Flush must contain the 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same suit.
If the cards are of a different suit, then this would simply be a straight. If the cards are not the 10/J/Q/K/A and are not in sequence, then you will simply have a flush. If the cards are suited and in sequence but not the 10/J/Q/K/A, you would then have a straight flush and not a royal flush.
