At Least 48 Players Will Play in BIG ONE for ONE DROP

WSOP 2012 - Big One for One Drop - LogoAccording to Cirque de Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, the BIG ONE for ONE DROP is officially a sell out.

Laliberte, who is the Chairman of the ONE DROP charity, confirmed earlier today (Friday) that the tournament has sold out.

The tournament has a 48 player cap, but there is a possibility that there may be one or two extra players depending on how many people turn out for the ONE DROP 25k satellite that is taking place later tonight. There have been reports that as many as 100 players are expected to take part in tonight's satellite.

The BIG ONE for ONE DROP features a monstrous buy-in of $1 million, with $111,111 going to the ONE DROP charity. The remainder of each buy-in goes into the prize pool. The eventual winner of the event, which gets underway this Sunday at 1:11 pm, will take home the largest single payout in the history of poker.

Some of the names that have recently confirmed their participation in the event are Daniel Negreanu, Andrew Robl and Brian Rast. Players such as Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan are also expected to participate.
