Online Bracelet Event Gets Underway on July 2nd

World Series of Poker Online - WSOP.com - LogoWSOP.com released the schedule for the 2015 World Series of Poker earlier this week.

The World Series of Poker announced that there would be 11 new bracelet events added to this year's schedule, including the $565 "Colossus" No Limit Hold'em event and the $1,500 DraftKings 50/50 tournament.

One of the most interesting additions to the schedule, however, came in the form of a $1,000 No Limit Hold'em tournament that will be contested almost entirely online.

The tournament, which will be open to anybody physically located in Nevada at the time of the event, will take place almost entirely on WSOP.com. The tournament will get underway at 12:00 pm local time on July 2nd and will play down to the final two participants. Once the final two players have been determined, the tournament will be paused until the next day. On January 3rd, the final two players will travel to the Rio to decide the winner of the tournament in a live format. The eventual winner of the event will walk away with a World Series of Poker bracelet and a healthy six-figure payday.

According to the World Series of Poker, online satellites to the online event will be announced shortly.

What do you think about this online bracelet event? Do you think that it is a natural evolution for the game of poker or do you think that it cheapens the accomplishment of winning a bracelet in the "traditional" way?
