Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Tom Dwan All Taking Part in Main Event

-- North American Poker Tour - NAPT - at the Mohegan Sun --The NAPT Mohegan Sun main event, which is the third stop on the newly formed NAPT (North American Poker Tour), got under way earlier today.

A total of 716 players made the trip to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut to take part in the tournament. The strong turnout for the $5k event means that there is a total prize pool of $3,264,244, with $750,000 going to the eventual winner. The top 104 players will be paid, and each final table participant being guaranteed a minimum of at least $60,244.

The tournament field features many of the top poker players in the world, including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

There are many sponsored Pokerstars players in the field (obviously), including the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Dennis Phillips, Barry Greenstein and Greg Raymer.

A few of the members of "Team Full Tilt" also decided to make the trip to Connecticut, including Phil Ivey and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

The chip leader of the tournament after Day 1 is David Williams, who currently has around 231k in his stack.

Vanessa Selbst (214k), Lars Bonding (177k), Brandon Cantu (146k) and Eric Levesque (134k) round out the list of the top five chip stacks heading into the second day of play on Thursday.
