Published on 2010-01-03 12:32:00The 2010 PCA (Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure) officially begins on Monday, January 4th, with a $1,060+$40 Super Satellite to the main event.
This year's PCA will officially conclude on Tuesday, January 14th, with two different events - Event #46 ($500+$50 NLHE Shootout) and Event #47 ($500+$50 PLO Shootout).
There will be a total of 47 events in 2010, which is well up from previous years.
Day 1A of the $10,000+$300 main event will begin at 12:00 on Tuesday, January 5th. Day 1B will take place on Wednesday, January 6th, with the eventual winner of the entire event being crowned sometime on Monday, January 11th.
Other events to watch out for include:
$5,000 8 Game Championship (begins January 7th)
$5,000 PS Heads Up Challenge (begins January 8th)
$5,000 PLO Championships (begins January 9th)
$2,000 PLO Live Heads Up (begins January 10th)
$5,000 NLHE Freezeout (January 10th)
$2,000 Battleship Main Event (January 11th)
$25,000 High Roller (begins January 11th)
$5,000 NL Freezeout 6 Max (January 13th)
The PCA has quickly become one of poker's premier events, due to the heavy involvement from Pokerstars and sunny locale. The fact that the event takes place in early January certainly doesn't hurt, as many people are looking to escape cold climates during this time of year.
The 2010 PCA will attract many of poker's biggest names. In addition, Pokerstars recently announced that Kelly Rowland will be performing at the PCA party on January 9th.
Last year's PCA main event attracted 1,347 players and was eventually won by Poorya Nazari, who ended up taking home $3 million dollars.
Could this year's turnout possibly top 2009? We'll soon find out.. good luck to everyone that is planning on playing in the main event.
