WSOP.com To Become Official Online Gaming Partner of NY Rangers
Published on 2014-03-25 22:59:00Earlier this week, a promotional page was circulated on Twitter that purported to show a new partnership between WSOP.com (one of the companies that currently services the New Jersey online gaming market) and the New York Rangers of the NHL.
The cat was out of the bag, which led the Rangers and Caesars Interactive Entertainment to officially unveil details of the deal via a press release earlier today.
Per the terms of the deal, WSOP.com and the Rangers will be conducting a number of promotions together, including the "WSOP.com Rangers Homecoming Sweepstakes", which will see members of the Rangers alumnus visit the homes of the winners to watch a New York Rangers game on TV.
In addition, WSOP.com will be receiving a "presence" at New York Rangers home games. This includes branding on the scoreboard and LED ribbon boards, as well as "database marketing opportunities and website advertising."

Earlier this year, the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils became the first of the US-based "major" sports franchises to ink a deal with an online gaming company after agreeing to terms with Partypoker.com. This deal was seen as the tip of the iceberg at the time, with more teams expected to dip their toe into the online gaming waters.
