Pokerstars Now Owns Pokerpages.com Domain

Earlier this year, Pokerpages.com announced with "sadness and regret" that they would be closing Pokerpages and "all of its related services" on October 31st, 2009.

October 31st came and went, yet Pokerpages remained online, leading many to wonder exactly what was happening.

The reasons behind the original decision to close remained a mystery as well. Why would such a popular online poker portal decide to shutter its doors, rather than putting itself up for sale?

None of that matters anymore, as Pokerstars now owns the site.

Pokerati mentioned on December 14th that there was an unconfirmed rumor floating around that Pokerstars was going to be buying Pokerpages.

Consider it confirmed now, as Pokerstars is in possession of the domain.

It will be interesting to see what Pokerstars does with Pokerpages - are they going to use their resources to continue to develop the site, or are they simply going to try and monetize the existing traffic?
