"ElkY" Wins Another Major Poker Tournament

-- wcoop event 38 winner - bertrand elky grospellier - pokerstars --Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier added another major poker tournament title to his collection early Saturday morning after taking down WCOOP #38 ($530 NLHE [1R1A]).

"ElkY", who is a Team Pokerstars Pro, managed to outlast 1,168 other players en route to taking down the first place prize of over $230k.

"ElkY" came very close to winning a WCOOP bracelet last year, taking second place in the $25k NLHE Heads Up event. Grospellier went deep in a number of events last year but wasn't able to seal the deal, so you can be sure that he was particularly motivated to win in 2009.

Grospellier has been on a ridiculous run since the start of 2008. Here is a list of his some of his major poker accomplishments since January of 2008:

-1st place in 2008 PCA for $2 million
-5th place in 2008 Grand Prix de Paris for $122k
-1st place in 2008 Festa al Lago Classic (WPT) for $1.4 million
-1st place in 2009 PCA High Rollers Event for $433k
-3rd place in 2009 NBC Heads Up Championship for $125k
-3rd place in 2009 WPT Championship ($776k)
-2nd place in 2008 WCOOP $25k Heads Up Event ($320k)
-1st place in 2009 WCOOP $530 NLHE 1R1A event for $232k

That's a pretty sick run, to put it lightly.

Yet, there are still people who look at Grospellier's infamous Sharkscope graph (Pokerstars SNGs) and think that "ElkY" isn't a good poker player. Are you kidding me?
