The Poker King is reporting the latest from the world of poker - The WSOP Negreanu / Ivey bet is the latestThe eyes of the poker world are transfixed on both Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey as the duo attempts to win a highly publicized World Series of Poker bracelet bet this summer.

A few weeks before this year's World Series of Poker got underway, Daniel Negreanu took to his Twitter account to announce that he and Ivey were accepting bets on whether or not the duo could win a bracelet between the two of them this summer. Negreanu and Ivey accepted bets anywhere from $5,000 to $1 million at even money from the public - if the duo managed to win at least one bracelet this summer, their side would win. If they didn't win at least one bracelet between the two of them, their side would lose.

The bet was scrutinized by many in the poker world in the run-up to the WSOP. Was it a good bet to take? Some people thought that the "against" (betting against them winning a bracelet) was a slam-dunk, while others figured that Negreanu/Ivey were actually small favourites.

A number of people decided to bet against Negreanu and Ivey (the exact amount of action they received is unknown), adding a further layer of intrigue to this year's World Series of Poker.

The people who bet the "against" are off to a good start as Negreanu and Ivey have bricked so far. Ivey made the best run of the two so far as he advanced deep into the $25k Mixed-Max No Limit Hold'em event. Unfortunately for Ivey, he was eventually eliminated just short of the money.

As far I as know, both men plan on taking Saturday off and returning to action on Sunday event at the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Championship.
