593 Players Turn Out for WSOPE Main Event

Despite all of the turmoil in the online poker industry over the past six months, the game of poker continues to grow throughout the world.

A record 593 players turned out for this year's World Series of Poker Europe main event, easily smashing the previous attendance record for the event. The 593 player turnout has created a total prize pool of nearly 5.7 million EUR, with the eventual winner of the event taking home 1.4 million EUR.

2007 - 362 players
2008 - 362 players
2009 - 334 players
2010 - 346 players
2011 - 593 players

The game of poker continues to grow throughout the world, and this has translated into increasingly larger turnouts for events such as the World Series of Poker Europe.
