John Racener Charged With His Third DUIPublished on 2010-12-12 09:35:00
According to the St. Petersburg Times, 2010 World Series of Poker main event runner-up John Racener was recently arrested and charged with his third DUI.
Here is the paper's recap of the incident:
"Racener, of South Tampa, was arrested at about 4 a.m. at W Azeele Street and S Westland Avenue. He refused blood-alcohol testing, and was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on $1,000 bail, jail records show."
According to the Times, this is Racener's fourth arrest and third DUI charge. He was apparently charged with driving under the influence in 2005 and 2007, and also hit with a misdemeanor battery charge in 2009.
Up until this weekend, John Racener had been enjoying a banner year that has seen him rake in nearly $6 million in total tournament earnings.
Racener burst into the limelight earlier this year after making the final table of the World Series of Poker main event. He ended up finishing in second place for $5,545,955 after succumbing to Jonathan Duhamel during heads-up play.
Racener then followed up his impressive performance in the World Series of Poker main event with a fourth place finish in the 2010 Five Diamond World Poker Classic last week.
