Don't Be Like The Guys in Milestone Hand #49,745,000,000Published on 2010-09-17 08:48:00
Ok - in celebration of the 50 billionth hand soon being dealt on their site, Pokerstars is giving out free money to those who are dealt into "Milestone Hands".
Players dealt into every millionth hand (starting from hand #49,700,000,000) will receive cash prizes from Pokerstars. Players dealt into a "Milestone Hand" will receive $50 for every VPP that they have earned in the previous 50 hands on that table, while the winner of the hand will get their prize doubled.
If you are dealt into a "Milestone Hand", then you'll certainly know it. Play will be halted for a few minutes as a moderator explains what is going on.
It's important to be informed so that a situation such as the one below doesn't happen to you:

Uncalled bet ($9.90) returned to cubann
cubann collected $0.25 from pot
cubann: doesn't show hand
cubann said, "ahaaaaa"
*** SUMMARY ***

Seat 2: Kuritsa1989 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: DaytraderCGN folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: Degavy (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: LukeeT (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 6: kiper38 (big blind) folded before Flop
That's right - EVERYBODY (except cubann, who was the only one who was obviously paying attention) in this "Milestone Hand" folded! Even after a long pause that included congratulations from a moderator, everybody elected to fold to the pre-flop raise from "cubann" - even "Degavy", who was sitting on a monster $4 stack, elected to fold.
Thanks to his awareness of what was going on, "cubann" walked away with $607.
Let's not forget that the 50 Billion Mega Milestone hand is approaching.
Not only will the winner of the Mega Milestone hand have their cash prize doubled ($500 x number of VPPs earned over the last 50 hands at that table x 2), but they'll also walk away with an additional $50,000 in prize money.
If I see somebody fold during the "Mega Milestone" hand later this month, I'll cry.
