Nicolas Chouity will take a massive chip lead with him into the final table of the EPT Monte Carlo main event when action gets under way on Friday afternoon (local time).
Chouity had an unbelievable Day 4, accumulating a stack of over 10 million chips by the time that play came to an end for the day. This is nearly triple the chips of his next closest competitor.
Here are the chip stacks heading into Friday's final table:
Nicolas Chouity - 10,280,000
Andrew Chen - 3,670,000
Mesbah Guerfi - 3,670,000
Dominykas Karmazinas - 2,285,000
Aleh Plauski - 1,695,000
Herve Costa - 1,590,000
Josef Klinger - 1,170,000
Roger Hairabedian - 1,130,000
All eight of these players are guaranteed at least 140,000 EUR for making it to the final table, with the eventual winner taking home 1.7 million EUR.
A total of 848 players participated in the EPT Monte Carlo main event this year, which created a total prize pool of 8,480,000 EUR.
The final table will be devoid of any big names, as Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro was eliminated in 12th place (for 80,000 EUR) and Nick Schulman was sent to the rail in 18th place (for 50,000 EUR).
The final table will get under way at 12 pm local time on Friday afternoon.
