-- GSN - High Stakes Poker - TV Show - Ratings up --GSN circulated a press release earlier today that trumpeted the fact that ratings for the current season of "High Stakes Poker" are significantly higher than HSP Season 5.

Comparing the first six episodes of HSP6 to the first six episodes of HSP5, GSN says that ratings "are up dramatically" over "all key demographics".

Here is a breakdown of some of the key demographics for the show:

Men 25-54: ratings up 29% over last year

Adults 18-49: ratings up 27% over last year

Adults 25-54: ratings up 25% over last year

The increase in ratings can surely be attributed to the fact that some of poker's top names, including Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Daniel Negreanu, have played in every episode so far this season.
