-- king watching phil hellmuth entering wsop europe --Phil Hellmuth, known for his extravagant entrances into major poker tournaments, arrived at the World Series of Poker Europe earlier today dressed as an emperor.

Hellmuth rode to the front of the casino into a UB-sponsored horse-drawn chariot, acknowledging the fawning crowd with a wide smile and some sort of a fist pump. The camera man captured the looks on the faces of the people in the crowd, and many of these looks seemed to say "Who the hell is this guy?"

Hellmuth then conducted an interview as he strode towards the door of the casino, stopping for the occasional picture and autograph.

There was apparently some sort of a problem getting some of the ladies into the casino that were accompanying "Emperor" Hellmuth. Apparently they didn't have proper ID with them, and employees of the casino wouldn't let them in.

With dramatic music pounding through the speakers of the casino, Hellmuth made his way to his table, where he finally took his seat after providing hugs to the female members of his entourage.

The players seated at Hellmuth's table (including Doyle Brunson) didn't seem particularly overwhelmed by what they were seeing, as most barely acknowledged Hellmuth as he took his seat.

There is a weak smattering of applause as Hellmuth's entourage exited stage right.
