-- king announcing the busy poker season --Aside from a "martonas" inspired burst of activity on Full Tilt Poker a few weeks ago, the poker world has been pretty quiet since the World Series of Poker came to a close in mid-July.

This all changes in September, as there are a number of major events (both online and live) that will attract the attention of poker players across the world.

To start, the WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) gets underway on Pokerstars on September 3rd, and runs all the way through to September 20th.

This tournament series will have more than $40 million dollars in guaranteed prize money and will attract many of the greatest poker players in the world.

Full Tilt Poker will be running their MiniFTOPS XIII as well in September. Full Tilt is looking to steal some of the spotlight from Pokerstars, as they are planning on running the MiniFTOPS from September 9th through September 20th, which will be in direct competition with the WCOOP.

The "live" tournament schedule is absolutely packed as well in September.

The World Series of Poker Europe begins on September 17th and runs through to the end of the month. The main event, which was won by John Juanda last year, is a six day event that will begin on September 26th.

The European Poker Tour will be hosting its second event of Season 6 in September, as the EPT Barcelona is scheduled to run from September 4th to the 9th. In addition, the EPT London event will get underway just one day after the WSOPE main event draws to a close. You can expect that many of the world's top players will participate in both events.

Not to be outdone, the World Poker Tour is hosting a total of three events in September as well.

The WPT Slovakia series runs from August 31st to September 4th. Just a few days later, the WPT Merit Cyprus event gets underway, running until September 12th.

Then, just a few short weeks later, the Borgata Poker Open takes place, running from September 19th to the 24th.

The poker world is going to come alive next month - I can't wait.
