Dwan Battling Back on Full Tilt Poker

sharpening up the game at full tilt poker - tom dwan - durrrrWith the World Series of Poker (and all of its high-stakes cash games) less than a week away, many of the top poker players in the world have been camped out on Full Tilt Poker, fine-tuning their games.

Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius are just some of the names who have been sharpening their games on Full Tilt in front of the 2009 World Series of Poker, which is just five days away.

The biggest beneficiary of all of this action has been Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Dwan has managed to bank a total profit of $1.79 million dollars so far in May, and has dramatically scaled back on his losses for the year.

After being down close to $4 million dollars (according to HighStakesDB.com), Dwan has managed to claw and scratch his way back to a loss of less than a million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in 2009.

Dwan, after suffering through a couple of dramatic downswings in 2009, seems to be poised to take another run at break-even status for the year. Dwan, after dumping millions of dollars on the site to start the year, managed to battle his way back to break even, only to suffer another $4 million dollar downswing. Can he fight his way back to profitability this time? One thing is for certain - "durrrr" has nerves of steel.

Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, as mentioned, has also had a strong May so far. He is currently up just over $850k over 4,677 tracked hands for the month of May, and is up just over $2.5 million dollars for the year.

Other players who have done well over the first 21 days of May include:

Patrik Antonius (+363k)
"DIN_FRU" (+337k)
"Bomberman" (+220k)

Gus Hansen has had a number of heads-up battles against "durrrr" in May, and has come up on the losing end so far.

The notoriously volatile Hansen is currently down over $1.01 million dollars in the month of May, over a total of 8,386 tracked hands. Hansen had a particularly bad session about "durrrr" yesterday and managed to drop nearly a million dollars in the battle. Hansen is still up over $1.8 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in 2009.

Other players who have suffered losses of almost a million dollars on Full Tilt in May include:

"LarsLuzak" (-884k)
Phil Ivey (-869k)

I wouldn't expect to see a great deal of names such as Antonius, Ivey, Benyamine and Dwan on Full Tilt Poker during the World Series of Poker. Between the tournaments, cash games at Bobby's Room and daily rounds of golf, these four will likely be very busy.
