leading online poker room - full tiltRailbirds might want to mark September 7th, 2008 down on their calendars.

Not only will you have the conclusion of the $25k Heads-Up Pot Limit Omaha championship on Full Tilt Poker, but you will also have a couple of major WCOOP events on Pokerstars - the $10,300 "High Roller" No Limit Hold'em Tournament ($2 million guaranteed), and the $530 No Limit Hold'em tournament, with $3 million dollars guaranteed.

The first edition of the $25k No Limit Hold'em Heads-Up Championship on Full Tilt Poker was a major success for the company. The field included many of the top "live" and online poker players in the world, including the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and Tom "durrrr" Dwan. The buzz surrounding the event was deafening. In the end, David Singer topped Emil "whitelime" Patel to take down the $560k first place prize money.

This PLO event should draw many of the same names that participated in the No Limit Hold'em event - I can't imagine the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Tom Dwan and Phil Galfond missing out.

The event will begin at 15:00 ET on Saturday, September 6th. Once the tournament plays down to the "final four", play will be halted until 16:00 ET on Sunday, September 7th. On Sunday, a winner will be crowned.

This should be a highly entertaining event.

It should be noted that there will be back-to-back high-stakes Heads-Up tournaments in September. You have the $25k PLO tournament on Full Tilt Poker, which concludes on September 7th, and then the very next week (September 14th), you have the $25k NLHE Heads-Up WCOOP event on Pokerstars. Should be a great couple of weeks of action on these sites.
