bill ivey aka lee gaines is on fire lately playing pokerBill Ivey, real name Lee Gaines, is on a major, major tear right now.

You may know Lee best from his $100k in 100 days challenge, which he successfully completed way back when. At the time, Lee was predominantly a cash game player, tangling with the likes of Elky and Rekrul on a regular basis. He preferred short-handed No Limit Hold'em, and did extremely well.

It seems as though over the past year or so, Lee has decided to really focus on MTT's, and it is certainly paying off.

On November 11th, Lee took down the big Sunday $109 rebuy on Pokerstars, besting some of the top names in poker to take down the $43,700 first place prize. This follows a second place finish in the $109 rebuy on October 7th for over $24k, and a massive $96k cash in the $500 NLHE WCOOP event on September 16th.

He also plays on Full Tilt Poker under the alias "hisxlnc", and has done extremely well on that site as well. Lee came in second in a $100 rebuy tournament on October 31st for $14k, and took down the same tournament a week earlier for $25k.

Not only is Lee a great poker player, but he is also one of the nicest guys that you could ever hope to meet online. He has had a bit of live success so far, with his best finish being a second place at the 2007 March Madness event in March of 2007 for $32k. As Lee gets older, you can expect him to do even more damage on the live tour.

Bill Ivey is an absolutely sick player, and we'll be hearing much more from him in the future.
