Jamie Gold is Chip Leader Going into Final Table of World Series of Poker
 |

The winner of the 2006 World Series of Poker will be determined on August 10th. We are down to 9 players from an incredibly large field of 8000+ that included actors, professional poker players and amateurs. The chip leader going into Thursday is Jamie Gold out of California, who is representing Team Bodog in the event. Second in chips is Team Full Tilt representative Allen Cunningham.
Currently Jamie Gold has over 25 million in chips, and Allen Cunningham has 17.7 million. Jamie Gold has been the chipleader for 3-4 days now, and has been using his stack to bully his opponents. Cunningham has slowly chipped up after almost being knocked out a few days ago, and would have to be the odds-on favorite to win, given Gold's experience.
According to Prahlad Friedman, who was eliminated on Tuesday, Gold has a "huge" tell. Friedman exploited that tell, getting all in with A3 against Gold's 87 offsuit, but Gold flopped the nut straight and eliminated Friedman. There is no doubt that Cunningham will be exploiting this tell at the final table. Gold seems to be hedging his bets already, saying that he might just dump his chips and finish second in order to avoid being famous. Truth or simply more manipulation from Gold?
For my money, Cunningham is far and away the strongest player at the final table, and I would be surprised if he doesn't win. He has played brilliantly this tournament, and will no doubt seek to prey on the inexperienced players at the final table.
