$50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Event to Be Offered at This Year's WSOP
 |

The World Series of Poker is offering a wide range of events this year. One of the most interesting tournaments will be the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament, which will feature most of the top players in the world. Whoever ends up winning this tournament will truly have to be considered one of the most well-rounded poker players on the planet, given the wide range of games that are played in a HORSE event, and given the competition that is sure to show up to play this event.
What is HORSE? Basically, it's a combination of Limit Hold'em, Omaha 8/B, Razz, Stud and Stud 8/B. At the World Series of Poker, blinds will start at $100-$200, and you'll see Hold'em at Level 1, Omaha 8/B at level 2, then a move to Razz, which will have an Ante of $100, Low Card of $100 and Completion of $300, same as Stud and Stud 8/B. After the last hand of Stud 8/B is played, it switches back to Hold'em, at blinds of $200-$400, and so on.
This competition is so interesting because you really have to be a well-rounded player to win, and the high buy-in will create just an unbelievable field. Personally, I can't wait to see who ends up taking down this event. I would put my money on someone like Barry Greenstein to win this one. This event is perfectly tailored to his well-rounded knowledge of the game. You definitely won't get unknown, Chris Moneymaker types winning this event. It's just too hard, and too much skill is involved.
