The WSOP Is Going to be PACKED this Year
 |

The World Series of Poker main event this year is going to have an absolutely insane amount of people entered this year. I have heard projections of upwards of 8000 entrants, and I can't say I am surprised. The amount of players that major online poker rooms are going to be sending this year is just off the charts. PokerStars, just to name one, is having a 150 seat tournament in July, as well as having daily qualifiers for a World Series of Poker seat. Bodog says that they are sending 700 players to the WSOP. Full Tilt is another site with a big multi-seat tournament. I am sure that Party Poker will be sending at least 500 players of their own to the event.
This is outrageous! The main event is going to last TWO WEEKS. It starts on July 28th, and ends on August 10th. The amount of bad beats, good reads and good laydowns you have to make over a two week period to capture this prize is just unreal to me. Looking at the number of entrants, I feel like I would have a better chance to win the lottery. It is amazing to me to think that in just 2003, there were only 800 entrants. And then Chris Moneymaker won, and changed online poker forever.
The most disgusting thing of all: the projected prize pool. Eighty million dollar prize pool! Sick!
